Temporomandibular Joint Treatment / TMD

The jaw has an important function in our lives, be it for food intake or to guide social contacts.

Increasing the pressure, such as pressing or grinding of the teeth, leads to an overload of the temporomandibular joints and to an increased wear of the teeth, resulting in altered biomechanics of the temporomandibular joints and increased muscle tension in the masticatory apparatus.

Likely consequences:
- painful temporomandibular joint
- headache
- decreased jaw-opening/aggravated jaw-closing
- neuralgia around the head
- vertigo

By using TMD we pursue the target to limit associated misconduct and to reduce excessive muscle tension to normalize abnormal joint mechanics and to cope with everyday life painlessly.
